Welcome to Part 2 of our series on weight, healing, and eating disorders. In this post, we’re
diving deep into the heart of healthy eating, healing sugar addiction, nurturing your digestive
system, and overcoming binge eating disorder. The journey to happiness and health is, at its
core, an inside job. It’s about knowing yourself deeply and taking full responsibility for your
well-being – a process that demands discipline and discernment in a world where food is often
weaponized.
But here’s the beautiful part: you already possess the most intelligent tool for
discernment – the wisdom of your own body. When it comes to food, energy is intimately
entangled with what we eat. Your body provides instant feedback on the food you consume,
and that feedback should guide your choices.
Our cells are primarily composed of proteins and fats. However, many modern foods contain
seed oils, such as canola, sunflower, safflower, and high oleic oils, which are cheap and
ubiquitous. These oils masquerade as healthy fats but actually lodge in your cells and inhibit
their function. Consuming these oils robs your body of its life force, leaving you feeling
depleted and contributing to long-term health issues like cancer. Additionally, these foods
often contain chemicals, sugar, MSG, and other additives that compound their negative effects.
To heal, start by eliminating these oils from your diet. Instead, choose foods that resonate
with life and vitality. When shopping, hold produce in your hands and feel their energy—two
apples might look similar, but they can feel vastly different. Opt for the ones that feel most
alive and vibrant!
I prioritize eating organic and seasonal foods. I shop at a local indoor farmer’s market where I
can find fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. I also incorporate frozen organic vegetables,
which retain most of their nutrients. Proteins are another crucial part of my diet. I consume only pasture-raised, organic meat, eggs, butter. These foods nourish not just the body, but also
the soul. Understanding the true nature of these foods and the symbiotic relationship we share
with them is a powerful experience. For high-temperature cooking, I use ghee, organic coconut oil, or fat saved from slow-cooked meats. Butter and olive oil, though rich in nutrients, should be used at lower temperatures to preserve their health benefits.
A whole chicken from a local farm can be a meal that nourishes for days. After roasting or
slow-cooking, the meat can be used in various dishes, the carcass can be boiled for broth, and
even the leftovers can enrich your garden’s soil. This cycle of life, where nothing is wasted,
honors every part of the food we consume and nurtures our bodies deeply. Try to avoid industrially raised or farmed fish and meat. Instead, choose wild-caught fish, which provide essential life force, protein, and fats. Fruits and vegetables are packed with vitamins
and minerals, purifying the body, especially when eaten raw – if your digestive system allows
it.
The hidden dangers of sugar addiction
Sugar is another common culprit in modern diets. It’s addictive, toxic, and fuels
inflammation, feeding parasites and even cancer cells. I recommend quitting sugar entirely to
free yourself from its unnatural cravings. Once you break the addiction, your palate will
adjust, and you’ll find that overly sweet processed foods become unappealing.
I once struggled with sugar addiction, which was deeply tied to childhood trauma. For many
of us, food served as a source of comfort in difficult times. But this comfort comes at a
cost – sugar wreaks havoc on the body, causing inflammation and compromising the immune
system. When you eliminate sugar, your body can heal, your energy levels rise, and you break
free from the cycle of sickness.
The gut is more critical to our well-being than many realize, and the foods we eat directly impact the gut’s health. Unhealthy gut bacteria thrive on sugar, starches, and processed foods, releasing toxins that
enter the bloodstream and affect our mental and physical health.
When you heal your gut, everything changes. I used to suffer from bloating, constipation, and
other digestive issues, all of which disappeared when I healed my gut. The transformation was
profound – I lost weight, my skin cleared up, and my mental health improved dramatically.
Healing the gut also strengthens the gut lining, preventing undigested food particles from
leaking into the bloodstream, where they can cause inflammation and disease. By making
simple dietary changes, like incorporating ghee, turmeric, and neem, you can heal your gut
lining and protect your overall health.
How you eat is just as important as what you eat. Emotional eating – whether due to stress,
boredom, or shame – can turn even healthy foods into toxins within the body. Negative
emotions stored in the body heighten the karmic weight of our food, impacting our health,
weight, self-worth, and overall energy. But there’s hope. When we restore a positive, embodied relationship with food, we transform
our bodies and our lives. We create harmony in our physical, mental,
emotional, and energetic bodies. We disentangle from the consciousness and spirits attached to foods that keep us locked in spiritual bondage.
Here are a few tips to start healing your relationship with food:
Choose high-vibrational Foods: When shopping, hold your hand over produce and feel the
energy. Choose the items that resonate with vitality.
Grow your own food: If possible, grow your own food. The energy you invest in your
garden will return to you in the nourishment of your body.
Mindful preparation: While cooking, meditate on the journey of your food – from seed to
plate. Infuse your meals with gratitude and intention.
Avoid distractions: When eating, be fully present. Turn off the TV, put away your phone, and
savor each bite.
The journey to healing your relationship with food is a transformative one. It’s about more
than just what you eat – it’s about how you eat, how you feel, and how you connect with the
energy that sustains you.
In the next blog, we’ll dive deeper into the topic of binge eating and how to heal this common
but challenging issue. If you’re ready to transform your relationship with food, I invite you to
