There’s a lot of talk these days about connecting with spirit guides, angels, and other beings. And I get it—it’s comforting to think there are benevolent forces guiding and protecting us. And yes, many of us do have that kind of support around us. But in this spiritual landscape, not everything is what it seems. Not every voice you hear or presence you feel is here for your highest good.
So let’s talk about it. Spirit guides. Angels. Familiar spirits. Entities. What are we really connecting to when we open ourselves up? Who do we actually want around us? And how do we know the difference?
All spiritual beings—whether they are in the lower or higher realms—are vibrational. They’re consciousness forms. Some serve Creator. Some serve themselves. And others? They simply linger, caught between worlds, looking for something to feed on.
At the center of all creation is God—Yahweh. Infinite Source. Creator. The origin of all life. From Creator emanates all energy, all love, all light. I’ve encountered this being in forms ranging from light, fire, a fatherly voice, to a force that steers my astral body without words. The presence of God is undeniable. It expands you. It reorients you toward your true north.
From that Source emanate other beings: angels, humans, and beyond. There’s a spiritual hierarchy—not in the worldly sense of dominance, but of service. The beings closest to God carry the most power and love, and they use that to serve. Think seraphim (the burning ones), cherubim (the protectors), and ophanim (the wheels with many eyes). These aren’t just symbolic. Many of us have seen them—through journeys, visions, or encounters.
Real angels don’t need your energy. They’re not here to feed. They’re not looking for worship. They’re not in your face 24/7 giving you updates about your love life. That’s not what they do.
They’re emissaries of the Divine. They appear when needed—often only briefly—on assignment, bringing guidance, healing, and support. And when they do appear? You’ll know. The experience is unmistakable. It’s blissful, loving, and clear. Your body, your nervous system, will recognize them.
This is your key to discernment: how do you feel in the presence of this being? What fruit does their presence bear in your life?
Here’s where it gets tricky.
Many people think they’re connecting to guides, when they’re actually interacting with what’s called a familiar spirit. These are lower astral entities. They may appear helpful, friendly, even loving at first—but they often come from ancestral contracts, multi-generational agreements made long ago that are still active today. Many “spiritual gifts” passed down through family lines are actually sourced from these entities.
These spirits present as guides. They say all the right things. They may even give you information that seems accurate or spiritual. But over time, they siphon your energy. You begin to feel drained, off-track, obsessive, anxious, even mentally unwell. I’ve had so many people come to me after engaging with practitioners who unknowingly (or knowingly) work with these beings. The damage is real.
And you don’t have to be practicing witchcraft or mediumship to connect with one. These beings are all around. The earth realm is dense—and it’s close to the lower astral. Most of them are not guides. They’re opportunists.
The more desperate you are to connect with a guide, the more likely you are to attract a being that doesn’t serve your highest good.
I know that hunger for connection. I’ve been there. But rushing into relationship with any being just because you want someone to show up is risky. True spiritual expansion is about becoming more sovereign, not more dependent. The right beings will appear as a byproduct of your alignment, not as a shortcut to bypass your human experience.
So please—don’t open yourself to just anything. Don’t chase signs or pull cards hoping a “guide” will answer. Don’t go looking for hacks to avoid your life. You are in your body for a reason. Your higher self chose this life, this experience, this growth.
Your #1 guide is Yahweh—Creator. And right after that? Your higher self.
Your higher self is the aspect of you that exists in wholeness and oneness with Creator. It is wise. It is loving. It knows your soul path. It’s already guiding you—through intuition, through sensation, through the quiet knowing you feel when you stop the noise.
Journeying is one of the most powerful tools I know to connect with your higher self and with the divine directly. And that’s the path we walk in The Way Circle and in my apprenticeship—real experiences, raw encounters, true discernment, and deep alignment.
If you’re wondering whether a being is really high-vibrational, here’s a way to test:
This is why discernment is everything.
Because yes, there are angelic beings. Yes, there are miraculous encounters. I’ve had them myself—healing interventions, lightbeings in my kitchen, angelic presence recorded on security footage. But they came as a result of alignment. Of years of work, of deep journeying, discernment and intention.
High vibrational beings aren’t summoned. They arrive because of the vibration we cultivate.
So instead of searching for beings to guide you, focus on becoming someone worthy of guidance—someone in alignment with Creator, with love, with truth.
That’s the safest, most powerful way to connect.
And if this resonates, come join us inside The Way Circle. Or apply to the apprenticeship. You’ll not only strengthen your own discernment—you’ll walk the safest, most sovereign path I know for expanding your consciousness and stepping into divine alignment.
And as always—if this was helpful, share it with someone you love. Especially someone who might be tangled up with beings that aren’t who they say they are.
Stay tuned—next, we’re going deeper into lower astral entities, psychic attacks, and protection.
With love,
Jessica
